Kettcup 2012
In 2012, the KETTCUP, the most successful KETTCAR racing event in the world, celebrates its fifth anniversary. More than 75,000 children aged between three and 15 have pedalled like crazy in more than 175 races and battled for the title in a gripping atmosphere. It all starts at individual KETTLER dealers or at town fetes. In 2007, there was even a race held at the DTM final in Hockenheim. Some of the top locations include Alexanderplatz in Berlin, with more than 2,000 entrants over two days, or the famous Serengeti Safari Park in Hodenhagen. In 2012, the year in which the KETTCAR celebrates its 50th anniversary, another spectacular anniversary in the racing calendar will be celebrated in the form of the 200th KETTCUP.
There is a real Formula 1 feeling to the KETTCUP, due in no small part to the fact that the kids’ racing day follows a similar format to the major races, complete with warm-up and qualifying. On a cordoned-off circuit up to 200 metres long, the children line up on the starting grid in three age groups. By negotiating tricky bends, speedy straights and challenging chicanes, the kids can really give it some welly in various KETTCARS and put their driving skills to the test.
